Finnish Modern Furniture Designer Eero Saarinen created the Womb Series, originally known as the “Wombat” in 1948. The Womb Series organic form is representative of the mid-century Scandinavian modernism style. The introduction of the loveseat Womb 2 seater brings increased seating capacity to the original inspired form.

The womb loveseat sofa offers to a seat for 2 in a relatively small footprint. The design of the Womb Chair is well known for its comfortable seating capability. The external metal frame lifts the body well off the floor providing a light airy feel. The Womb Series in the 2-seat loveseat configuration is relatively rare but highly sought after mid-century modern icon. The original designer believed strongly that the whole field of design is all one body. He had three design principles – Function, Structure and being part of the time.

Eero Saarinen designed with the human body form in mind. A simple concept yes, but many designers prefer aesthetics to functionality. In nearly every case, a piece of furniture that rises to become a classic has both striking artistic form as well as function. ABOUT CASHMERE WOOL TWEED

Cashmere wool fiber is obtained from “Cashmere goats.” Historically, fine-haired Cashmere goats have been called Capra hircus laniger, as if they were a subspecies of the domestic goat Capra Hircus. Cashmere goats produce a double fleece that consists of a fine, soft undercoat or under-down of hair mingled with a straighter and much coarser outer coating of hair called Guard Hair. For the fine under-down to be sold and processed further, it must be de-haired. De-hairing is a mechanical process that separates the coarse hairs from the fine hair. After this separating process, the resulting premium “cashmere” is ready to be dyed and converted into yarn.
